Dear Parents,
I hope you all enjoyed your Hurricane Days and stayed safe! We were signed up to go to the book fair Thursday and Friday. Our new days are:
Thursday, September 12-Preview
Friday, September 13-Buy
Your child can bring in money any day go before the bell rings. They just won't have a wish list until Thursday.
Please send in Field Trip forms and payments by Friday. Thank you!
Please send in a reusable grocery/shopping bag by Friday, September 20. Your child will be bringing home all their desk items for track out on Friday, September 27. Thank you!
Next week in ELA, we will close read a story and determine the lesson, message, and moral through details in the text. We will write a paragraph using this information. We will set goals as readers and begin writing a reading contract. We will read stories and determine the lesson and find evidence in the text. We will review main idea and supporting details and identify figurative language.
In math, we will begin solving problems with addition and subtraction using place value manipulatives, drawings, and the expanded form method. Once we have learned different strategies, I will teach the children the traditional algorithm.
In science, we will continue matter. In social studies, we will continue government.
